The exhibition will also show, where available, drawings, sample boards, and photographs for tile murals, small tile compositions, tiles produced for singular commissions, or speculatively, and vessel work by the participating artists Throughout the exhibition, photographs will be displayed to show tile and architectural ceramic work in situ. Visitors will also learn a little about the long history of architectural ceramics, especially decorative tiles.

Pewabic, founded during the Arts and Crafts era in the last century, continues to flourish in the production of modern vessel forms and architectural tile work. With the assistance of a grant from the National Endowment for the Arts, a Federal Agency, Pewabic will show architectural ceramics by contemporary artists from Europe, the U.S., and Michigan along with a new work by staff designers, made exclusively for this exhibition.

Artists will include a member of the Pewabic design staff [to be determined] and: Susan Tunick, Jason Green, Karen Koblitz, Diana Pancioli, Laurie Eisenhardt, Christine Jetten of the Netherlands, and Lubna Chowdhary of the U.K.
