The Detroit Department of Health and Wellness Promotion is the tenth largest public health department in the nation. The DHWP provides a comprehensive array of services including the new role of Emergency Preparedness.
Our mission is to improve the health and quality of life through the application of best practices in the delivery of public health services.
The DHWP is client and community centered and with more than 200,000 individuals serviced a year. We are committed to excellence and continuous improvement in order to meet the health challenges of the Detroit community.
